"I knew my mom would thrive best in an intimate care environment, yet we couldn't locate anything that met our standards for her and GG
- hence, we created Adkinson Estates!
My vision remains to offer a safe and supportive setting that helps women living with differently abled abilities or disease flourish by receiving progressive care approaches from healthy-minded staff, stimulating life enrichment options and cohesive camaraderie that enhances the quality-of-life experience for all who are involved. I am deeply committed to ensuring that the dream
my beloved late mother, Melonie, and I shared in founding
this premier solution, is celebrated daily in her honor."

"When I first started seeing Melonie's daughter, I said to Jess that I wanted the whole
picture and that I wanted it with her. She then told me about her mom and
grandma and described what the whole picture looked like. I said I'd sign up and she
politely told me to get out. Sometime later, after I was allowed back over, Mel called
Jess one night because she needed help taking out the garbage; I said OK, let's go.
We went over to their house around 11:00PM. This was the first time meeting her and
she made the comment about this being a memorable moment - it was.

From then on, our relationship blossomed, and I became very fond of them. These past seven years have had some great times and awful ones as well, but I wouldn't trade them for anything. Melonie was the strongest, bravest person I know, I miss her every day and she was the best mother-in-law a guy could hope to get."

Forever Favorite Son-in-Law ... and Safety & Compliance Manager too!
"I like caregiving because I want to help people who can't help themselves in certain areas - no matter the reason, whether it be family, disability, age - at the end of the day, it makes me feel good knowing I helped change somebody’s day for the better and never feel alone.

I am truly honored to be the "OG" member of ourA-Team since the very beginning, I loved Mel and feel privileged to lead by example in her
legacy for our team members and Golden Girls."

Resident Care Manager

"I love being able to make an impact - just one act of kindness can make their whole day. And be there for them (residents) like they were your own parents or grandparents - laughing is awesome!
It was an honor to care, joke and help Melonie. She told me I was her favorite - I'm sure she told everyone that, but she meant it with me!"

"I got into caregiving because I wanted to be the presence I once needed - someone steady in a storm. I love it, even though it can be heartbreaking at times, there is a deep, quiet beauty in being there for someone when they need it most."

"I started caregiving originally with my husband’s grandfather - he was the most amazing man I have ever known. He had been diagnosed with colon cancer in late 2015 and I cared for him in every way I could from then until his passing in 2018. He was determined to never spend more than one night in the hospital, he was a spitfire of a person, and a story he would tell all the time was to “always find the starfish."
I believe that echoes into caregiving, because you may be the only kindness that someone experiences or remembers."

Caregiving is beautiful—it lets us meet people with dignity, share their laughter, and stand beside them through tears. The privilege of sharing in the lives of others—of making a meaningful difference through life’s daily moments—is a blessing that fills the heart with deep gratitude and wonder.

"I chose caregiving when my grandma got sick and I realized that there needed to be more people that truly cared. I wanted to be a person that made a difference in the lives of others."
